Most environmentally friendly office building in Estonia
Explorer was officially recognised as the most environmentally friendly commercial building in Estonia
It obtained an energy-efficient building certification LEED Platinum (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, USGBC, USA) that makes the building the greenest of its kind. The commercial building includes 4,500 square metres of office accommodation, adding 670 square metres of catering and commercial premises on the first floor. The commercial Explorer building is six storeys high. Terraces are on two ends of the highest storey as well as on the ground and second floor.
The building includes a mechanical intake and exhaust ventilation device with a rotor heat exchanger. Rental premises all have ventilation systems with room-based management.
Solar panels installed on the roof produce approximately 9,500 kWh of general electricity a year. The building includes two charging stations for electric cars. A built-in system allows real-time monitoring of current, long-term, and average energy consumption for separate as well as combined expenses.
